Canon’s story began in a Tokyo laboratory in 1933, with a team researching how to make quality cameras. The Kwanon prototype followed in 1934, then the Hansa Canon in 1936, before the company was formally established in 1937. Those early steps put looking closely at the centre of the story. For discovery.day, a camera’s appeal lies in that invitation: to notice a detail, choose a frame and give an ordinary moment your full attention.
