The journey behind the star.

Is this your brand? Claim this pageMercedes-Benz traces its roots to the separate work of Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler in 1886. Their predecessor companies came together as Daimler-Benz in 1926. Between those milestones, Bertha Benz’s long-distance journey in 1888 helped demonstrate what a motor car could do beyond the workshop. It is a history of invention meeting real roads, and a reminder that the story of a vehicle includes the people willing to take it somewhere new.
